Chapter 2: The Dance Night

        As the days go by, the keyblade apprentices continue to train while poor Ventus has been asleep for almost two weeks.  Estrel tries daily healing sessions using her crystal necklace.  Most of the students who were present when Ventus fainted waited outside his room while Estrel tried to heal him.
        Flamma stood close to Levitas and said, "Lev?"
        Levitas looked at her and said, "Yes Flamma?"
        "Do you think he's gonna be okay?"
        "I don't know.  It's difficult to say."
        Then Estrel walked out of the room with a rather sad look on her face as she put her crystal necklace back on. "I'm sorry guys.  I've done all I can to help him heal.  Now it's his job to pull through."
        Flamma tried to comfort her.  "Hey.  At least you tried."
        Then Zephyr came and said, "You're just as useless as everyone else here."
        "CAN IT ZEPHYR!!!" Snapped Levitas in defense.
        "Geez!" Said Flamma.
        "Go bug someone else you big jerk!" Said Luna.
        "Good idea!" Zephyr looked at everyone and just walks away without a word.  "He's always so negative."
        "You can say that again." Said Levitas.

        Days later, Aqua sat beside Ventus as he laid in his bed in a comma-like state.  "Ventus, why won't you wake up?"  Luna then enters the room as Aqua walks out grimly.
        Young Luna looked at Ventus' body underneath the covers while his head rested on the pillow.  Then she sat beside him and said, "Ventus… I can't lose you…  I mean, I just met you, but you're different to everyone else…  and…  I like you…  a lot."  Ventus suddenly moves a little bit, but Luna didn't seem to notice.  "I know you're stronger then this…  Please…  come back…  to me…" Then a tear droop falls down her cheek and lands on Ventus.  Then he suddenly moans and opens his eyes.  Luna looked at him, smiled and said, "Ventus!"
        Aqua looked back and gasped.  "Everyone!  He's awake!  Ventus is awake!"  Aqua's voice traveled all across the castle and almost everyone rushed to Ventus' room to see if it was true.
        Flamma looked through the door way and said, "Bu…but how?"
        "It's a miracle!"
        Vonda came to the scene and she saw Luna and Ventus as white silhouettes, and the lights of their hearts were connected by some kind of string of light.  She then smiled at them as more people kept coming.

        As the months went by, Ventus has been learning how to wield a keyblade like the rest of the students.  He still doesn't remember anything, but he has slowly been developing a personality.  Most of the students have given him a nickname, Ven.

        One night, the masters of the castle decided to hold some kind of formal dance, and every student had to show up in their best attire.  Luna wanted to look her best for Ven, so she asked Flamma to help her out.  When the night came, everyone was dressed in many layers of clothes.  Luna was dressed in a lovely outfit, but she kept messing with her hair, which was put in a Chinese style with long needles stuck in it.
        "Stop fussing with it!" Said Flamma, pulling Luna's hand away from her head.
        "I can't help it," Said Luna, "It feels uncomfortable."
        "Well you're gonna have to live with it tonight." Said Vonda.  Her hair was pulled back so her bangs didn't go in front of her face. "The masters told us to be on our best behavior tonight."
        "But why did they have to have it in the first place?" Asked Luna.
        "Who knows.  Probably to show off their well behaved students."  As they walked into the main room, they saw most of the students staying quiet while the masters talked to other keyblade masters from other worlds.  The twins Risa and Risus, who were usually energetic and loud, were very calm tonight.  Everyone knew that they were itching to kick this party up a notch.  Luna walked around and looked for Ven in the rather large crowd of people.  She saw Terra escorting Aqua around, even though Aqua would rather walk by herself.  She figured that their master told them to do that.  The young keybarer walked up to them and said, "Terra, Aqua, do you two know where Ven is?"
        "I think he's still in his room getting ready," said Aqua, "By the way, you look beautiful tonight Luna."
        "Thanks Aqua.  So do you."
        "Ventus at 2-O-clock." Said Terra.  Luna turned her head and saw Ven dressed in a kimono that was in the same colors of his usual clothes.  She looked at him hopping that he would notice her.

        An hour later, all the apprentices walked down to the underground garden filled with bioluminescent plants and such.  Although it was more like a forest than a garden, because that pocket in the ground was huge.  Since the students displayed such well behavior, the masters allowed them to use that place to do whatever they wanted the rest of the night.  As they closed the doors behind them, all the apprentices got rid of some of their layers of clothes and got more comfortable.
        "Finally!  We can get rid of these extra garments." Said Ven. "I've been sweating in this kimono for a while now."
        "Yeah," Said Luna, "And these ridiculously long needles are bugging my hair." She tried to pull them out, but they wouldn't budge.
        "Here, let me help you." Ven fiddled with Luna's hair until he finally got the needles out and her hair fell down.
        "Oh, that feels sooooooooooooo much better." She smiled at Ven and said, "Thank you."
        "You're welcome." said Ven.
        Risa and Risus got their keyblades out and went into the center of all the students. "ALRIGHT EVERYBODY!" Said Risa.
        "LET'S GET THE REAL PARTY STARTED!!!!" said Risus.  Then she and her twin sister shot two orbs of light out of the tips of their keyblades, then the plants began to flash their lights in a disco like way while other strange plants made harmonious sounds making music.  Thats when everyone started dancing!  As their little party went on, the music slowed down and many young couples slow danced while others took walks on the forest paths.  Luna and Ven were walking together in the soft light the plants gave off.  Ven was as nervous as ever.  He wanted to say how he felt about Luna, but didn't know where to begin.  Just then, Luna tripped her own feet and Ven caught her in his arms.
        Luna looked at him and said, "I'm sorry, I'm not used to walking in these shoes."
        "Why don't you take them off then?"
        "Well, the only reason I'm wearing this outfit is because I wanted to look nice.  For you."
        "You dressed up just to make me think you're beautiful."
        "Actually just to look pretty.  Beautiful to me is what I thought Aqua was."
Ventus laughed and sat down on a nearby stone bench. "You didn't have to do this just for me.  I think you're pretty wearing anything."
        "That's what guys always say."
        "Hey, I mean it."
        "Really?"
        "Of course.  Now how about we get those shoes off your feet."
        "Good idea."  Luna got up and rested her head on Ven's lap while she used her own feet to take her shoes off.  She had only dreamed of having a moment like this with him, but never expected it to actually happen.  They sat there and watched as other students walked by while the plants put on a display of beautiful lights.

        Meanwhile, somewhere else on the paths, Levitas and Flamma were walking together.  They stopped at the forest lake, filled with glowing plants just like the forest.  "Flamma?"
        "Yes Lev?"
        "Do you remember when we first met?"
        "We were both showing off our keyblades.  Then you asked what my name was and realized were were both apprentices of the same master."
        "Then little Luna joined the conversation."
        "That was…….five years ago, right?"
        "Yeah.  And there is something I've been meaning to ask you."
        "Oh, what's that?"
        Lev's face turned red and then he said, "Do you wanna be my girlfriend."
        Flamma gave him a kiss on the cheek and said, "I though you'd never ask." Then she looked at the water and back to Lev. "Why don't you and me take a dip in the lake."
        "What?  Right now?"
        "Yeah!" She started to undress revealing her swimsuit-like undergarment.
        Lev blushed and said. "Well, if you say so." He did the same and then they both took a dive into the water, leaving their clothes on a bench.
